Santorini

Santorini, known since ancient times as Thira, is located on the southern side of the Aegean sea and is part of the Cyclades islands complex. The island was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed houses of Fira cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (a giant volcanic crater) offering breathtaking views of the Aegean sea. The town of Oia looks like a work of art with its houses carved into the lava rock. Stroll along the beaches with its black, red and white lava pebbles. Enjoy the local dishes and have a coffee while gazing at some of the best sunsets in the world.
