Gina Casella, the President & CEO of AT Escapes, is a strategic business leader with broad and varied experience in product and brand development, marketing and merchandising. She expertly combines her creative skills, passion for slow food, and love of travel to bring you AT Escapes, an experience like no other. As a child going back and forth between the US and Italy, Gina fell in love with travel.
When I finished university, I decided to become a Buyer. The opportunity to travel the globe to find the perfect product was a dream come true. It was not until years later that I realized that it was the travel part of my job that I loved best.
After a few years working in New York City, Gina moved to Rome and pivoted into a different direction. Her passion for cooking inspired her to start her own catering company whose clients included The American Embassy, diplomatic families residing in Rome, and Italian corporations. During this time, she was also given the opportunity to return to her alma mater, Temple University, as an adjunct professor at the Rome campus. Years later, Gina was offered an opportunity to return to New York to continue her career as a Buyer and later a Product Development Manager for a multi-million dollar company where she oversaw key programs, traveled the globe, and developed the brand positioning and marketing/merchandising strategies of top domestic and international brands. During that time, Gina also expertly planned and directed The World’s Biggest Book Club Luncheon for bestselling author, Adriana Trigiani.
Shortly after, Adriana needed to learn how to make shoes - she wanted to be able to describe the process to her readers in the Valentine series, and for personal reasons, to learn her grandfather Carlo's craft. She called me and said, "Gina, we need to go to Italy." I put the trip together and on the flight home, Adri asked, "Could you do this for my readers?" And in 2010, Adriana Trigiani Tours was created to bring the books to life and have the readers walk in the steps of the characters.

My passion for travel, food, and teaching is incorporated into every experience that I create. I am thankful to my dear friend, Adriana, who, in 2010, convinced me to take that leap of faith and turn my passion into a reality. And I thank each and every traveler who has put their faith in the AT Escapes family. We could not have grown without you!
Best-selling author Adriana Trigiani is beloved by millions of readers around the world for her hilarious and heartwarming novels. Adriana was raised in a small coal-mining town in southwest Virginia in a big Italian family. She chose her hometown for the setting and title of her debut novel, the critically acclaimed bestseller Big Stone Gap.

I said, “Gina, do you think we can do this for my readers?” Adriana Trigiani Tours (known today as AT Escapes) was born with Gina as president.
